Client Success Story: Missouri Valley College Receives $1,200,000 from the U.S. Department of Education

Byrne Pelofsky is proud to announce that our client, Missouri Valley College, will receive $1,200,000 from the U.S. Department of Education under the Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development program. Missouri Valley College is one of two Missouri grantees, which were announced by the office of Senator Roy Blunt last week.

The Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development Program provides resources to improve rates of postsecondary enrollment and completion among rural students and develops career pathways in high-skill, high-wage sectors.  The Byrne Pelofsky team wrote and submitted the highly competitive grant.  Missouri Valley College will use the funding to expand their “Drive 60” program which targets students within a 60-mile radius of Marshall, Missouri, with expanded college preperatory services, technology, scholarships and other programming to improve postsecondary educational access, affordability and success.

Dr. Bonnie Humphrey, President of Missouri Valley College, was euphoric. “I am very happy to be connected to the great people at Byrne Pelofsky,” said Dr. Humphrey.

We, too, are very happy to be associated with such success and continuous improvement efforts in higher education.
