GivingTuesday logoWho?  Everyone, especially you!  Businesses, families, individuals and nonprofit organizations.

What?  Be part of an exciting, national day of giving that celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.

When? Tuesday, December 3, 2013.

Where?  Everywhere!

How?  Coming together with one common purpose – to inspire philanthropy and encourage bigger, better and smarter charitable giving during the holiday season.

Why?  Giving is Good!

The Giving Institute, most recognized for embodying the values of ethics, excellence and leadership in advancing philanthropy, is a proud endorser of #GivingTuesday.  Jeffrey Byrne + Associates, Inc., the only Kansas City-member firm of the Giving Institute, is spreading the word about #GivingTuesday, and encourages EVERYONE to participate.

“#GivngTuesday is an excellent and timely opportunity for nonprofits to go out and make an ask,” says Jeffrey Byrne, President + Founder of Jeffrey Byrne + Associates, Inc.  “It’s also a meaningful way for businesses, families and individuals to give back to their communities.  I encourage everyone – nonprofits, businesses, donors and volunteers – to become a part of the momentum in year-end giving that #GivingTuesday provides.”

#Giving Tuesday is not a new giving platform.  It is a call to action.  Learn how and why YOU should become involved…

Just as “Black Friday,” “Small Business Saturday” and “Cyber Monday” are synonymous with kicking off the holiday season, #GivingTuesday was created to serve as a celebratory, fully-connected day to kick off the giving season – when many make their holiday and year-end charitable contributions.

Introduced in 2012, #GivingTuesday brought together more than 2,500 charities, volunteer organizations, corporations and foundations in all 50 U.S. States.  Online and mobile donations soared over the previous year’s numbers, and the movement gained 2.5 million social media impressions.

Expectations for #GivingTuesday 2013 are even greater, but its success depends upon the collective efforts of a special group—a special group to which you belong.  You are the most important part of making this movement a reality.   Whether you are part of a nonprofit organization that is coordinating a fundraising initiative or volunteer project, a donor looking to make a contribution or a volunteer looking to donate time and talent, #GivingTuesday is the perfect time to do so.

And no matter how you participate, everyone can help spread the word about #GivingTuesday.  Go viral on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media platforms.

Bottom line:  Giving is Good!  And when we all come together on #GivingTuesday December 3, 2013, giving will be GREAT!
