JB+A is excited to celebrate the fundraising success of its client partner, Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO), who recently received a $1.5 million gift from an anonymous donor to support its planned Training for Life Campus. This donation represents the largest single cash gift received to date for the campaign. The Training for Life Campus will occupy 16.5 acres in Jefferson City, and will serve current and future generations of individuals and their families living with intellectual disabilities. The Campus will provide year-round training opportunities for athletes, coaches and volunteers, and will be the largest facility of its kind in the United States. The campaign will also support expanded programs and activities at the Campus.
SOMO currently serves more than 16,500 persons with intellectual disabilities such as Down syndrome and autism who participate in its 21 sports. It is estimated more than 100,000 Missourians with intellectual disabilities could benefit from such programs.
