Katie Lord has been in the nonprofit sector her entire career and is currently Vice President of Byrne Pelofsky + Associates. Katie brings to Byrne Pelofsky a strong background in development planning and training, marketing, corporate and major gifts, fundraising and board development. She has worked closely with major donors, corporations, small businesses, civic organizations and volunteer groups throughout her career. Katie is also a BoardSource Certified Consultant in board governance.
Earlier in her career, Katie was the youngest office manager for the American Automobile Association Allied Group overseeing two offices and a staff of 30. Following her passion to dive deeper into the nonprofit sector, Katie worked in fundraising and development for three national organizations, the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Make-A-Wish. Missouri. During her tenure with these three organizations, Katie won multiple awards for fundraising growth and achievement, which included a National Award from Make-A-Wish when she took her local event to number five in the United States and a Regional Fundraising Award for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She has also chaired several statewide volunteer and board training programs.
Katie is active in the Kansas City community through multiple leadership positions across multiple organizations. She is Chair of the Community Volunteers and Grants Committee of Junior League of Kansas City, a member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions program and a member of the Fox4 Love Fund Young Professionals Board. Katie is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Psychology and a Concentration in Communications. She lives in Olathe with her husband, daughter and two furbabies.
