Client Spotlight: Youth Guidance Kansas City

Oct 30, 2024

Byrne Pelofsky + Associates is thrilled to announce our partnership with Youth Guidance Kansas City, an organization dedicated to empowering students to overcome obstacles and succeed both in school and in life. With a mission centered on creating school-based programs that support children’s academic and personal growth, Youth Guidance fosters environments where young people can realize their full potential.

Founded in 1924 as the Church Mission of Help, Youth Guidance initially provided essential resources to girls in need, from shelter and medical care to educational support. Over the years, it has evolved into a transformative force in youth development, specializing in Counseling & Prevention, Community & Afterschool Programs, and Youth Workforce Development.

Through impactful programs like Becoming A Man (BAM) and Working On Womanhood (WOW), Youth Guidance addresses specific challenges faced by young men and women in 6th-12th grades. BAM uses a social-cognitive approach to instill responsible decision-making and positive community involvement, while WOW offers trauma-informed support for young women, building social-emotional resilience amid significant adversity.

Youth Guidance Kansas City’s vision is for every student to celebrate success, build confidence, and graduate with a meaningful life plan. Byrne Pelofsky + Associates is honored to support this mission through grant writing, helping to secure the resources that will continue to drive these vital programs forward.
