Kanbe’s Markets Awarded $100,000 Grant from JE Dunn

Apr 5, 2024

Byrne Pelofsky congratulates our client, Kanbe’s Markets, for receiving a $100,000 Building a Legacy grant award from JE Dunn Construction! Kanbe’s strives to build a more inclusive food system by diverting perfectly good, edible fruits and vegetables from going to landfills and delivers it to a network of stores in USDA “low food access” neighborhoods in Kansas City, and to a network of hunger relief partners to feed those in greatest need. This generous grant, in honor of JE Dunn’s Centennial celebration, will enable Kanbe’s to overhaul the community center at the heart of their volunteer experience. With this funding, Kanbe’s goal is to double the amount of food rescued from 550,000 pounds in 2023 to over one million pounds that translates into more than two million servings of fruits and vegetables within the Kansas City community.
