Karen E. West, Ed.D. – Grant Writing Consultant

Dr. West holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia whose dissertation research studied the grants peer review process. She has thirty years professional experience in grant and private fund development including a twenty-eight year consulting business in grant proposal writing, program evaluation and implementation. She retired from the Metropolitan Community College in 2005 where she served first as Resource Development Coordinator, raising over ten million dollars in federal grants over a four-year period and then as Associate Dean, Assistant to the President at Penn Valley Community College where she focused on fund raising from foundation, corporate, individual and community sources.

Dr. West has published three books on grant writing and has taught grant writing workshops nationally and locally since 1999.
