Byrne Pelofsky is delighted to partner with Great Jobs KC on a strategic public funding effort intended to support scaling the program in alignment with local industry needs. Great Jobs KC was launched in 2022 as part of KC Scholars, a non-profit formed in 2016 to help low-income students achieve post-secondary education. Great Jobs KC has a mission to provide tuition-free job training along with job placement assistance to secure family-sustaining jobs for low-to-modest income individuals in the Kansas City Area.
Through its programming, Great Jobs KC is able to help qualified and hardworking individuals achieve financial success, as well as address the critical need for skilled workers in high-demand industries in the Kansas City area. These industries include: Construction, manufacturing, healthcare, information technology, logistics/warehousing and service careers.
Great Jobs KC serves a six-county region which includes Jackson, Clay, Cass, and Platte counties in Missouri, and Johnson and Wyandotte in Kansas. It accepts applicants year-round. Once accepted into the program, students are enrolled in training that will equip them with the necessary skills for their industry. Upon program completion, Great Jobs KC connects graduates with KC employers who need staff through its Employer Partnership Program. This access to scholar support services that remove barriers to success is what sets Great Jobs KC apart from other job training programs.
Great Jobs KC is aiming to place 50,000 Kansas Citians in jobs over the next 10 years. Eleven partners have signed on to the Employer Partnership Program, and 20 additional partnership conversations are underway. By working closely with the Chamber of Commerce, Civic Council, and Area Development corporation, Great Jobs KC is able to flexibly design and scale its programs in alignment with local industry needs. Byrne Pelofsky is working closely with Great Jobs KC leadership to secure public support and funding through multiple channels.
